Rocking W Ranch Horse Training

Our training program produces quiet and willing ranch and roping horses. Upon completion of our training  program your horse will be able to:

Handle Correctly.

Neck Rein and Back Up.

Move off of leg pressure.

Side Pass to open and close gates.

Easily load with you getting in the trailer.

Rate and Track Cattle.

Rope and drag cattle.

These are some of the daily duties your horse will perform while here at the ranch.

Checking Fences.

Penning Cattle.

Rotating Cattle between Pastures.

Catching cows in the pasture and dragging them into trailers.

Sorting cattle in a small pen.

Move, handle, and work young bucking bulls.

Roping and tying calves.

With your permission, Some of the more advanced horse may go on the road with us on the weekends rodeoing. Depending on the level you horse is at they may be used for any of the following activities at the event:

Pen and sort the livestock before the rodeo

Run cattle through the chutes before the event.

Participate in the Grand Entry.

Pickup the saddle bronc and bareback riding.

Rope and drag bucking bulls that won't leave the arena.

Push timed event cattle out of the arena after their run.

Be ridding by the mounted judge to flag the timer in the timed events.

In order to better serve you our customer and to give each horse his required attention we limit outside horses. Please contact us to see if a spot is available or when one may open up.

Our program is best suited for young broke horses that need to be finished or solid horses that you want to take to the next level. We don't typically break or start colts.

Some problem horses may not qualify for our program. If your horse is healthy and has a sound mind we can teach him. We don't want to waste your money or our time with crippled or severely troubled horses. If you would like to know more about our criteria please call us.
